365 Blog Topic Ideas

Today’s Prompt: Write your own list of ten blog post topics.

Happy New Year everyone!! I hope 2015 was wonderful for you and that 2016 is even better! This post is the amalgamation of two posts that have been sitting in my drafts for several months. The first was discussing the book by Dana Fox and the second was from the Blogtember Challenge… that I still haven’t finished. Oops.

So to do a whole ‘two birds, one stone’ post to kick off the new year, here’s the best of both worlds!

I discovered Dana and her blog ‘The Wonder Forest‘ just over a year ago when I was scouring Pinterest for tips to help me start my blog. I later found her again when I was looking at some themes, one of which I ended up using on Blogger when I first started this blog! I then discovered this book that she created to help “the lifestyle blogger who has nothing to write about”. I bought the book with the help of an Amazon gift card that I got over the summer, but held off writing this post and using it until the new year. And here we are!

I think, as we both know my track record for posting every day, it’s unrealistic to think that I’ll be through the whole book by the end of 2016 but I like the idea of starting a project in every aspect of my life. And so, 365 Blog Topic Ideas is officially my blog project for 2016. I’ve got 366 days to work with in this leap year and I hope to get as many posts to you as I can!

Each page of 365 Blog Topic Ideas has one prompt in bolded and italicized text with a section at the back for seasonal and end of the year prompts (Valentines, Halloween, year-end round ups etc). Several of the ideas allow for the reader to use them for their “niche”, and will have “apply to your niche” or something similar in smaller text (i.e.: Create a collage of themed items under $30 Tip: Releate it to your niche! on pg 167). This way, lifestyle bloggers who have a specific genre (beauty/ DIY/ food/ etc) can take that and come up with something completely different from each other.

So, to satisfy the other bird that I’m hitting with this stone, here’s ten blog post ideas from the book that I am excited to write during this new year!

  1. Things you don’t regret. (pg. 6)
  2. 12 things you can’t live without this season. (pg. 20)
  3. Share your goals for your blog. (pg. 94)
  4. Tools you use every day. (pg. 147)
  5. A photo an hour. (pg. 186)
  6. Little things you can do to be a better person. (pg. 219)
  7. A challenge that you have yet to accomplish. (pg. 227)
  8. The last 10 photos from your phone. (pg. 280)
  9. 3 wishes – share them! (pg. 281)
  10. Write about something you’ve read or seen recently that inspired you. (pg. 340)

I am not sponsored to write this post or receiving compensation in any way. I am sharing this resource for other aspiring bloggers and to let you know what I’m hoping to complete in the next 12 months on here!

As always, thanks so much for reading!
