Today’s Prompt: It’s guilty pleasure time! Shows, books, songs, foods, whatever it may be.
I have many guilty pleasures. I am a dedicated viewer of Pretty Little Liars, Vampire Diaries, and Greys Anatomy. I love Taylor Swift. I cannot resist soft pretzels. I own an embarrassing amount of shoes but pretty much wear the same three pairs in rotation.
But my heart belongs to Starbucks.
I was never really a big Starbucks drinker growing up. I had one, maybe two of their hot chocolates during childhood and then the occasional frapuccino in high school. I started with Strawberries and Cream, matured into Vanilla Bean and then graduated as a fan of the Chocolatey Chip.
When I was 21 I got a job in the same mall complex of my town’s biggest Starbucks.
Six months later I became a gold card member.
I’m not quite sure how it happened and I’m not sure whether to be proud or ashamed. With the addition of my personalized card came the loss of an embarrassingly significant portion of my paycheque. My venti-green-tea-frapuccino-with-no-whip addiction is so real. I don’t even have to open my mouth before the barista at the Starbucks by my work has the GTF code written in the little box on the clear plastic cup.
I do try other drinks and my other (mostly seasonal… *sad face emoji*) favourites are:
- Steamed Eggnog (with whip)
- Blossoming Peach Tea Latte
- Caramel Flan Latte
- Peach Green Tea Lemonade
- Caramel Macchiato (with whip and extra drizzle)
I like to try most of the new drinks they come up with but nine times out of ten, if you see me walking out of a Starbucks, it’s with that bright green concoction in hand. And maybe a “You Are Here” collection mug. Oops.
The picture at the top of this post was the result of me taking pictures of when my name was spelled right, wrong… or very wrong (Agrena?!) when written on my Starbucks cup. The first picture was taken on September 12th and I wish I could say this is all the Starbucks I’ve had since then. Oops again.
Are you a Starbucks drinker? What’s your favourite? How about any other guilty pleasures? Let me know! 🙂
Thanks so much for reading!!
