It’s so strange that August is here… not only that, but we’re eleven days in! If you’ve been following me on any social media, including my blog, you might have noticed that my posting is rather… odd. Not that I’m a super consistent updater across the board but… it’s been weird, right?
My circumstances have been pretty weird. Over the last two months I’ve been travelling across North America. According to my Instagram, I’m still in Canada. On my blog map, I think it shows Michigan. My Twitter is a bit more accurate but still, I’m all over the place. Not physically, but… you get it.
I wanted to post about my trip in more-or-less chronological order but I also wanted to participate in this little linkup I stumbled upon! So here’s my ode to the last month, in the form of little letters. If you would like more information, the linkup is hosted by Kristen of Taz + Belly and I’m excited to participate in it this month and (hopefully) make it a regular thing!
The name of the game is to document and share your month through “little letters” to anyone or anything… how cute is that? Anyway, here’s my first shot at it!
Where did the time go? Looking back it seems like SO much happened but all of it was on the highest setting of fast-forward. From starting you off on Canada Day in Ottawa (in the pouring rain with a couple hundred-thousand of my closest friends – emphasis on CLOSE) to seeing the otherworldly island that is Newfoundland, getting to witness the magic of Anastasia on BROADWAY (pinch me please!) and walking through the gates of Graceland… you were one heck of a month.
That Iceland collection? A+. Five Stars. 110%. Bravo.
I’m sorry I’ve neglected you so much. We’re gonna buckle down in September though! I have been throwing the “rebranding” word around… but maybe just low-key “makeover”. We’ll talk.
Dear my home province of BC,
You are the sweet love child of Sephora, Shoppers, and Sally Beauty (it was a threesome and the logistics are very complicated but those are the facts). Please come to Canada.
Our love/ hate relationship took another step towards the latter. I even made an angry customer tweet today (I know, I don’t want to be that person… but come on!). We need to sort this out or our relationship will have to be seriously reevaluated.
Dear Taylor Swift,
My thoughts are with you during the trial (and my disdain is with fake feminists). What you’re doing is so important. Thank you.
(PS. No pressure, but how’s that new album coming? Thanks in advance!)
Dear Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campsites,
Thanks for the bomb wifi. You rock. Too bad we were hardly at the trailer long enough to use it. But still, thank you!
Bringing home whatever Icelandic plague nonsense you infected us with is SO not an appropriate souvenir. I guess neither were your stitches. Ugh. Pass the Kleenex.
I started you out in Savannah, Georgia… a place so beautiful it ALMOST makes me want to live there (when the ice age hits, maybe) and we’re not even halfway through and July definitely has competition. Bring it on.
Thanks so much for reading this post! Don’t forget to check out Kristen’s latest blog post for more information on the linkup!
